Zeina’s broad corporate and transactional practice is supplemented by significant dispute resolution experience.  NY-qualified and with deep connections to the Middle East, Zeina has over a decade’s experience, including six years with Hogan Lovells LLP, working in New York and the U.A.E. Her representative matters include cross border joint ventures and transactions, and she has represented clients in debt refinancing, unfair competition, breach of contract, and securities litigations and arbitrations.  Prior to attending Columbia Law School, Zeina was a reporter with the Lebanese Daily Star.  She has also spent significant time handling human rights issues with leading institutions, including UNDP (Lebanon), Human Rights First (NY) and the Center for Constitutional Rights (NY), on a pro bono basis.

Selected representative roles and matters: 

  • Assisting a leading cryptocurrency organization and their partner in their negotiations with Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. to launch Web 3.0; serving as outside general counsel for the JV.  
  • Assisting in corporate structuring advice for a leading technology company with respect to international group operations.
  • Serving as outside general counsel for a major solar power initiative providing internet-connected solar energy to homes in rural India.
  • Advising a leading UAE airline catering company on various cross-border joint ventures as well as excise and value-added tax issues.
  • Assisting a UAE-based lunch delivery startup in their Series A financing and related documents.
  • Assisting a 3D printing manufacturing company, in drafting terms and conditions, a template services agreement and NDA.
  • Representing a hotel technology provider in negotiating and drafting a significant termination and release agreement.
  • Assisting a leading luxury brand representative with key license agreements.
  • Representing private and government entities in the negotiation and drafting of several hotel management agreements in the region.
  • Representing the Rotana Group (owned by HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud of Saudi Arabia), one of the Middle East’s largest integrated media companies, in an investment by News Corporation and the reorganization of Rotana’s businesses across the Middle East and North Africa.  
  • Representing a leading software and technology firm in an International Chamber of Commerce arbitration involving a software company in the Middle East.
  • Representing a prominent Middle Eastern University in an internal investigation of the institution’s financial practices.
  • Representing Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, TAQA, in an employment dispute in the U.S.
  • Assisting a leading Middle Eastern bank in responding to a major U.S. Government investigation.
  • Representing a leading French bank in a debt refinancing, unfair competition and an employment dispute in the U.S.
