A Texas and DC qualified attorney, Murtaza brings a broad focus on corporate, technology and commercial transactions, along with commercial dispute resolution. Over his career, Murtaza has worked in Washington D.C. and Dubai with Latham & Watkins, and Riyadh, KSA with Clifford Chance advising numerous Middle Eastern and international corporate clients. Most recently, Murtaza served as Deputy Attorney General for the State of Texas, where he was responsible for 7 divisions including the General Counsel and Public Finance divisions. Murtaza brings strategic and legal management skills to assist his clients.

• Advising multinationals on foreign direct investment into U.S. market, including US corporate tax, and regulatory / trade compliance.

• Representing closely held businesses and family offices on succession planning and business divestments
• Negotiating and drafting complex commercial and technology agreements including supply and manufacturing agreements, SaaS agreements, shipping and logistic agreements and licenses.
• Advising on compliance with US and EU GDPR data privacy legislation and best practices
• Advising on compliance with US employment laws for US domiciled employers and employees
• Representing businesses and shareholders on commercial disputes, including breach of contracts, partnership disputes and fraud.
