Ozan is a New York qualified attorney and practiced law in New York for four years before joining Clifford Chance in Frankfurt in 2016. In 2017, Ozan moved to Clifford Chance’s Dubai office as a senior associate. Ozan joined Argentum Law in early 2020. Ozan specializes in banking and finance matters and has worked with clients across the Middle East, Europe, United States and Africa structuring and advising on various complex project financing and corporate financing matters.

Selected representative roles and matters: 

  • Advising a Saudi petrochemicals company on a USD 6 billion financing for a petrochemical complex in Saudi Arabia.
  • Advising a Saudi petrochemicals company on a USD 3 billion financing for the acquisition of shares in a Swiss specialty chemicals company.
  • Advising sponsors on a USD 2.1 billion methanol project in the USA; conducting a bankability analysis of the distribution agreement, the terminal services agreement and the joint venture structure.
  • Advising the Turkish Ministry of Energy and government-owned EUAS (the largest electricity generation company in Turkey) on the shareholders’ agreement negotiations for a nuclear power plant project in Turkey.
  • Advising a Malaysian company on its private placement memorandum for the development of a polysilicon plant in Malaysia; drafting the project collaboration agreement, the shareholders agreement and the call option agreements; reviewing the power purchase agreement between the Malaysian company and the Malaysian electricity company.
  • Advising a UAE real estate company and its affiliates on real estate financings of AED 1.52 billion, AED 560 million and AED 450 million.
  • Advising a Nigerian conglomerate on a USD 150 million financing for a cement factory in Niger and USD 100 million financing for a cement factory in Tanzania.
  • Advising the lenders on a QAR 3.8 billion facility to a Qatari real estate company.
  • Advising the lenders on a USD 3 billion letter of credit facility to a clearinghouse in Belgium.
  • Advising a US automotive technology company on a US 200 million facility.
